@jens Anything and everything will be tried with, in, or on a blockchain and almost everything will fail. It's just software eating scarcity.

The thing that never made sense to me about carbon offsets was how it was managed as a form of currency. The goal should be for it to become more and more expensive over time to emit carbon into the atmosphere but I haven't seen a system that was axiomatic about that.
